She realized her simultaneous passion for teaching and went on to receive a B.S. in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT in 2015. After completing her studies there, she taught general music and strings to k-8th grade students at a k-8 public school in New Haven, CT, as well as teaching in various music centers on the side. She is recently earned the degree of M.M. in Performance with an Emphasis on Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Hartford, in Hartford, CT and is now mainly teaching high school orchestra as well as teaching privately and in other capacities in the Hartford, CT area. Although she is a firm believer in the importance of teaching cello technique fundamentals, she is also highly concerned with what teaching approach will spark enthusiasm in each individual student's musical education journey. Marisa believes that the best teachers are the ones who are also always learning themselves, and she strives to keep an open mind to new approaches and discovered knowledge about teaching music.
